Information About My Practice
Virtual Sessions
I have moved to a fully virtual practice during the pandemic. All sessions are conducted on Simple Practice, a secure platform designed especially for therapists. It’s HIPAA-compliant and more secure than Zoom.
I closed my physical office in 2020. Unfortunately, I no longer meet in person. All therapy is done by either phone or video.
Payment
The fee for individual therapy is $200 for a 50-minute session.
The fee for couples work is $420 for a double session (one hour and 50-minute session). All work with couples and families requires a 2-hour minimum.
Payment is expected on the day of your appointment. I accept several types of payment.

HSA (Health Savings Accounts)
I do require that you keep active credit card information for billing. We can save your credit card in the Simple Practice software, and I can run the charge after each visit. If you prefer to pay via Venmo or Zelle, I will send an email reminder with an enclosed invoice. If I don’t receive payment within a week, I can simply charge your card.
Frequency
When you begin treatment, I require that you commit to regular therapy to establish a good rapport. As we get to know each other, I will thoroughly assess your trauma history, work stress, relationship history, as well any addictions that are being used to cope.
Therapy is an expensive proposition. Where I may be able to help is that I am willing to adjust the frequency of treatment. Eventually, we can pace treatment based on your emotional and your financial needs. The only caveat is that you must commit to at least every three weeks to keep a good momentum going. Ultimately, you decide how frequently you can afford to come.
Insurance
Unfortunately, I don't work directly with any insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, or EAP services. I am recognized, however, as an out-of-network provider by most insurance providers.
Here’s what it means to work with an out-of-network provider. I provide clients with a receipt for sessions that they have paid for. Then clients submit those receipts to their insurance company for reimbursement. This means that you will need to communicate directly with the insurance company.
All insurance companies work differently. I suggest that you contact your insurance company for more information about their policies, reimbursement rates and deductibles.
Late Cancel Fee
The Simple Practice software will generate a reminder with a video link before your scheduled time. If you need to cancel for any reason, I need at least 24 hours advance notice.
Otherwise, I charge full fee for any no shows or late cancels within 24 hours of our appointed time. This practice is industry standard and observed by most therapists in private practice.
Free Initial Consultation
Studies suggest that the most healing factor early in treatment is a good rapport between therapist and client. The trust that we build in our relationship has a direct correlation with the therapeutic outcome. As a result, I offer a free 30-minute for new clients. This consultation gives you time to figure out if I will be a good fit as your therapist and gives me time to get more details about your case.
Let me know if you are interested, and I can provide potential times to meet for the free consult.
